'Cannonball' is a fresh sextet that features the jazz/groove/soul music of Julian 'Cannonball' Adderley. The music of this genre has a heavy blues and gospel influence with a deep, infectious groove. The members of the group are well established on the Australian jazz and commercial music scenes. Between them, they have performed with the likes of Ray Charles, Jerry Lewis, Hugh Jackman, Michael Buble, James Morrison, The Australian Art Orchestra, The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Olivia Newton John, Mike Nock, and Bobby Shew. The band features exciting vocalist Chantal Mitvalsky, Tim Wilson (saxophone), Paul Williamson (trumpet), Darren Archer (piano), Tom Lee (bass) + Sam Bates (drums). Ensemble members have toured with various projects throughout Australia, Asia and Europe, and have been the recipients of many awards and accolades including ARIA nominations, and selection as finalists in the National Jazz Awards.
