Josh Kyle Band

Born on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia Josh moved to Sydney at 16 to complete his schooling at The McDonald College of Performing Arts. His training began at an early age, looking at not only jazz but completing AMEB singing exams to gain focus and discipline. After high school he furthered his studies at The Australian Institute of Music completing a Bachelor of Music Performance (Hons) in 2009

As a young singer Josh was involved in Qantas’ “Spirit of Australia” CD released through Sony, celebrating Qantas’ 40th Anniversary.  Josh has also performed at International sporting events singing the English, Australian and South African National Anthems for the Tri Nations Rugby Series in Sydney, broadcast not only in Australia but throughout the world.

Josh was a finalist in the James Morrison Generations in Jazz Vocal Competition in 2008 were he performed with James Morrison and some of Australia’s finest musicians.

He was awarded the Jazz Vocal award by Sydney greats Joy Yates and Dave MacRae (Buddy Rich Band, Nucleus) and is a soloist for Jubilation, Sydney’s premier Jazz/Gospel choir, who regularly perform at Channel 7’s Carols in the Domain.

Having relocated to the United Kingdom Josh worked with some of the biggest names in British Jazz, at the best venues including, Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express Dean Street and the 606 Jazz Club.  Recording his debut album “Possibilities” in 2010 with Bassist/Producer Geoff Gascoyne(Jamie Cullum) The album was released in 2011 as apart of The London International Jazz Festival and rave reviews from Jazz Critics.  Josh returns to Australia to release the album in 2012.
