With her second single heading to the airwaves shortly and a recent track featured on Ministry of Sound's Uncovered Vol 4., Kristina Miltiadou is coming back to Bennetts Lane for a sultry October residency.
Her recent sold-out Bennett's show in July featured an incredible re-working of her largely hip hop and RnB-inspired material into a classy jazz trio production. She's returning with more songs, more soul and more special guests over the course of three dates in October.
Catch collaborations with the Sirens one by one, with Lily Parker, Yuko Nishiyama and Esther Holt appearing as a rotating cast of stunning vocal harmony each week.
This residency will also feature the important addition of drummer Josh Barber. Expect to let his beats and her sweet vocals take you to another world in Melbourne's favourite back alley jazz dive.
Having played at last year’s Melbourne International Jazz Festival to great acclaim, The Hue Blanes Trio looks forward to playing three special performances at Bennetts Lane Jazz Club.
He is joined by a stellar line up including Danny Farrugia on Drums and Tamara Murphy on bass.
The Hue Blanes Trio will be playing songs and tunes from his recently recorded album, 'Sad Songs Make Me Happy', out early spring through Pound Records.
Expect arrangements of movie themes, hearty ballads, jelly roll inspired rags, and of course some new and old original songs.
“Hue Blanes can play the billy-oh out of the piano in a way that most can't and somehow manages simultaneously to sing like the rarest of birds. Don't miss his new powerhouse trio and iconic compositions reminiscent of the good old days and the not so good old days” - Martin Martini
