Rimbaud in Retrospect
Formed in 2002, the quintet of Eugene Ball (trumpet), Geoff Hughes (guitar), Nick Haywood (acoustic bass), Phil Noy (alto & bariton sax) and Allan Browne have produced three acclaimed albums. Joined by special guest vocalist Stella Browne, they present Rimbaud in Retrospect, a selection of material from their two highly acclaimed albums "The Drunken Boat" and "A season in Hell" (JazzHead), including the 2011 Bell Award winnder for Composition of the Year "song for the highest tower".
"What a beautiful array of tunes from Browne and band members, ranging from sunlit, playful bop to a more contemporary euphoria... Browne is one of the most vital creative forces in Australia". John Clare SMH
