Joe Chindamo, a Yamaha endorsed pianist, is an outstanding recording artist who regularly tops the jazz charts at home in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. In Europe his popularity is increasing following rave reviews from performances at major Italian jazz festivals.
A prolific composer, pianist and arranger, Joe's award winning recordings include solo jazz piano, piano trio, quartets and sextets. He recently completed his first Concerto for Accordion and has composed much original music for films whilst featuring on over 60 film scores. He has recorded with Ray Brown, James Morrison, Michael and Randy Brecker and Matt Jodrell. Joe works regularly with Billy Cobham and others including Ernie Watts, Ravi Coltrane, Jamie Oehlers, Matt Clohesy, Sam Anning, Lee Konitz and Joe Lovano.
"Amidst so much music, two pianists in particular have demonstrated their sublime talent (the programme is largely dedicated to jazz piano). The first is extremely well known to jazz fans, the American Brad Mehldau, and the second, practically unknown to our parts, is the Australian of Calabrian origin, Joe Chindamo." - Aldo Gianolio, L’UNITÀ Sunday 2 January 2005
