Young trombonist Alistair Parsons has been establishing a profile with groups such as Sam Zerna Quintet, Tim Shawcross Septet, Bennetts Lane Big Band and Tim Wilson Quartet. He is now making his debut as a composer/bandleader with his new group 'The AL P. 4'. Influenced by artists such as Nils Wogram, Dave Douglas, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Scott Tinkler, and Jamie Oehlers, Parsons has assembled an strong line up of some of Melbourne's best young musicians in Matt Fagan (guitar), Sam Zerna (acoustic bass), and Ryan Menezes (drums) to perform a mixture of original compositions and arrangements of a few standards.
